Responsibilities
  • Serve as a technical expert representative across internal team, clients, and within the industry
  • Develop our technical skills offer, and generally ensure the growth of the technical offering within the company as a whole, driving innovation where possible
  • Work alongside the creative team to develop innovative concepts for client briefs and new business pitches
  • Provide full technical scoping assistance where needed, including new business pitches, ensuring accurate estimation, advising on technical supplier choice where required, writing functional specifications for external suppliers etc
  • Identify and advise on skill-sets required internally versus external suppliers, and grow and mentor the in-house development and design team
  • Consistently deliver high-quality services to our clients, suggesting alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability, and / or longer life.
  • Support projects in production by providing expertise and advice to aid problem solving and advancement
  • Provide support to the creative team and advise on best practices for digital design from a technical POV
  • Promote our Technical skills and expertise offer to clients, acting as representative in all technical areas of a client relationship
  • Pro-actively maintain up to date knowledge / R&D of Systems Architecture best practice, enterprise technologies such as CRM and Content Management, software development languages and tools, and emerging technology and multi / social media platforms
  • Work closely with the Directors to develop our internal process, procedures and systems
  • Act as a technical escalation point with the client and internally during all development projects
  • Translate technical concepts and approaches to other staff at all levels in an easy to understand manner
  • Selection and overseeing of any freelance technical partner companies or developers
  • Assist with project and company server, hosting solutions and other in house IT matters 
Requirements
The candidate must have at least 3.5 years of experience within a digital / agency environment and has been a technical lead/ manager level, and be able to match as many of the below criteria as possible:
  • An excellent knowledge of emerging technologies, trends and markup languages & frameworks within Digital/mobile-based websites
  • Expert experience and knowledge of implementing / integrating the following:
    • Backend and Front end technologies, including - PHP, Javascript, jQuery
    • Flash, HTML, HTML5, Java script, CSS (all essential)
    • Standards for accessibility, SEO and interactivity
    • A wide variety of CMS systems, database and server integration
    • A wide variety of social media API’s such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flicker, Blogs etc
    • Mobile apps (iOS, Android, RIM)
  • Coding best practice across all work delivered
  • Used to working with and overseeing both external technical suppliers and internal development teams
  • Ability to create bespoke coding architecture and tech solutions, and to write clear functional and technical specifications
  • Ability to contribute to creative thinking to develop concepts and ideas
  • Effective communication, leadership, management skills and able to client face
  • Always maintain a calm, professional demeanor and objectivity, even in the
  • face of pressure
  • Be able to demonstrate a pragmatic and conscientious overall approach but also enjoy pushing boundaries and driving change
  • A passionate interest in new innovation and technologies
  • Demonstrate commitment to the agency and its continued success
  • Act as an ambassador for the company externally
